FAQ

Pilates FAQ

Do I need a reformer at home for private pilates?

No. Mat sessions work in any space and are the most common at-home format. Reformer sessions are booked in partner studios.

What's the difference between mat and reformer pilates?

Mat uses bodyweight on a floor mat; reformer uses a spring-loaded carriage for variable resistance. Both develop the same fundamentals. Reformer accelerates progression with assisted/resisted options.

Is pilates good for back pain?

Pilates is one of the most-prescribed movement modalities for chronic low-back issues. Many Limbo providers have post-rehab training and coordinate with your PT or doctor when needed.

How is private pilates different from a group reformer class?

Private sessions tailor every exercise to your body, history, and goals. You progress faster because feedback is constant. Group classes follow a fixed flow at a shared pace.

Can I do pilates while pregnant?

Yes. Book a prenatal-trained provider. They'll modify for your trimester, manage diastasis recti risk, and support pelvic-floor health.
