FAQ

Dance FAQ

I have zero dance experience. Is private instruction right for me?

Especially right for you. Private lessons remove the embarrassment factor and let you move at your own pace. Most clients book their first 3–4 sessions specifically because they hate group-class energy as a beginner.

How long before my wedding should I start first-dance lessons?

6–8 weeks is the sweet spot for a polished routine. 4 weeks works if you're focused. 12+ weeks gives you room for a more involved choreography.

Do I need to bring a partner to lessons?

No. For social/partnered styles (salsa, ballroom, etc.), instructors are trained leads and follows. Bringing a partner is great but optional.

Can I do dance lessons at home?

Yes for most styles. You need about 10' x 10' of clear floor space. Larger styles (ballroom, advanced contemporary) may benefit from a studio.

What should I wear?

Comfortable clothes you can move in. For ballet, ballroom, or salsa, your instructor may recommend specific shoes after the first session.
